ASUS CT-479 CPU Adaptor Brings Quiet and Cool Performance of Notebook Processor to Desktop Computing. The CT-479 further provides FSB (front-side-bus) jumpers for performance adjustment flexibility. Depending on different applications, users can select bus frequency of 533MHz or 400MHz. Enjoying quiet and cool operation doesn’t necessarily mean sacrificing computing performance.

Currently, the CT-479 supports the ASUS P4P800 SE, P4P800-VM, P4C800-E Deluxe, P4GD1 and P4GPL-X motherboards and the Intel Pentium M processor series. Unlike other manufacturers that incorporated the Socket 479 directly onto the motherboards, ASUS motherboards combined with the CT-479 adaptor offer greater flexibility, allowing users to support both the 478 and 479 processor platform on one single motherboard.

With the CT-479, Asus is the first shooter, with some success. Compatible with the most current models of motherboards and near to the range of the Socket 478 Motherboard (we wait with some impatience, the bios for the P4G8X Deluxe), the adapter make its job properly without any problem. We can get the benefit of performances of i875P and i915P chipset (moreover of their respective southbridges) instead of i855GME on dedicated motherboards. Dual Channel DDR and PCi Express become possible for Pentium M in desktop solution.

3.May I still enjoy the original advanced overclock and others ASUS special features of my MB if the CT-479 is installed?
A: Definitely yes ! That's why we provide CT-479 Upgrade Kit for Intel Pentium M CPU on ASUS MB (Note: the only exception is the CPU voltage, which cannot be adjusted through BIOS because the CPU power comes from the CT-479, not from the motherboard.)

4.Does CT-479 support non-ASUS MBs ?
A: No, It just supports ASUS qualified MBs shown in the ASUS official website.

5.Does CT-479 support Intel Pentium M "Low" & "Ultra Low" CPU ?
No, currently It DOES NOT support Intel Pentium M "Low"& "Ultra Low" CPU.
